Fall batch 2 submissions are closed.
Thank you for your time, care, and contributions!
Feel free to check out our previous issues or prepare your work for the spring semester submission period following our guidelines below!
Ouroboros accepts submissions from undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at Chapman University, as well as from faculty members and alumni. Submissions must obey the guidelines of their respective format in order to be considered for publication.

For all works—literary, art, or photography—the content must fall under the label of “speculative fiction,” which is any work that includes something that does not exist in our own world. This can range anywhere from small magical coincidences in an otherwise contemporary and realistic piece to great spectacles of future technology or arcane wonder in a world wholly unlike this one. Wherever your work falls along this spectrum, we’d love to feature it in Ouroboros!

If you encounter any issues while submitting, please contact us here.

*Each artist may submit up to four visual pieces—paintings, drawings, sculptures, multi-media work, etc.
This means that artists interested in submitting only visuals may submit up to four works in total. Artists interested in submitting both written and visuals may now submit two visual submissions in addition to two written submissions, or up to three visual submissions if only submitting one written work. The maximum for written work is still capped at two per person.
